Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves selecting and using the most targeted keywords or keyword phrases that relate to your web site. If you do this task well, you’ll find your site in the top 10 or 20 search result pages. You’ll also succeed in raising the Page rank. A Google page rank (0 to 10) requires you to be between 3 and 6 out, as it takes this to get the much-needed traffic to your site.
Understand that when someone searches for specific phrases it returns your site on top of the search results seen on the right side of your web page. The most popular search engines are Google, Yahoo and MSN. Search engines keep their methods and ranking algorithms secret, to get credit for finding the most valuable search-results and to deter spam pages from clogging those results.
A search engine may use hundreds of factors while ranking the listings where the factors themselves and the weight each carries may change continually. Algorithms can differ so widely that a webpage that ranks #1 in a particular search engine could rank #200 in another search engine.
New sites need not be “submitted” to search engines to be listed. A simple link from an established site will get the search engines to visit the new site and begin to spider its contents. It can take a few days to even weeks from the referring of a link from such an established site for all the main search engine spiders to commence visiting and indexing the new site.
As long as it may take for your site to be indexed, there are ways to speed up the process. Creating Sitemaps used by Google, Yahoo and MSN is always a good idea. Be certain that the pages on your site are never more than 2 deep, and that all pages can be accessed from the home page. Keep the data updated and it will quickly advise the SEs (search engines) that you made changes on your site and it should be re-indexed.
Google and the other SEs love blogs and with an appropriate link from an indexed site, can usually get your blog indexed with 24 hours. I know it’s true because I did it by linking from my web site.
So there it is, a quick summary of search engine optimization explained, and some of the purposes it serves.

That’s a very interesting article on search engine optimization.I like the article the way it has portrayed and were it has dealt on each and every aspects of search engine optimization.
But could you suggest which would be better social media traffic or organic traffic for generating more traffic to our web sites, and what about the various software by which we can improve traffic to our site..like elite software, webceo software..
Thanks..
john…
To answer your question John, as to which would be better, social media resources or organic traffic SEO for generating traffic, let me ask you this. Why do you want to choose?
You see, both sources of traffic are needed. Normal basic traffic from search engines is what we usually begin with. That gives us the start we need.
However, it is true that Web 2.0 traffic can be much bigger and faster to get than organic traffic. Of course, the handicap here is the tremendous amount of time it can take for you to go after this kind of involment.
Consider having at least one blog, and sign up to some social sites. I recommend a minimum of 6 memberships but you can go up to 20. I have only 6 signups myself, and still am not making full use of them to get traffic. It takes so much time, so much that I need to start outsourcing more of my work.
I would like some comments from you other readers regarding your question as to which software may make it easier to get more traffic, such as elite software, web seo software.. or the many others out there. I used to buy everything coming out, so now I stopped because I have too many I did not yet read, and I almost went broke from too many purchases.
The latest stuff being launched weekly is often costing hundreds of dollars in one-time payments or monthly memberships. When will it become reasonable again?
There is a new category on my web site with product reviews.. just a few for now. You can refer to those for some guidance as well, although not the two software you mention. Go here http://www.bestaffiliateproducts.com/product-reviews-of-best-sellers.html
What do the readers recommend as to which social sites to join first?
