How many social networking sites, also known as Web 2.0, should the serious marketer join?

I don’t mean the average surfer who wants to just socialize. I am talking about the serious marketer who wants to make big money using social sites.

To be very honest with you, I have joined very few so far. As if we didn’t already have enough work keeping up the web sites and the blogs, now it is a well known observation that we need to add social sites to our burden.

I find it quite overwhelming! just can’t keep up.

Yet I shall do what I must, to succeed. I can’t deny the obvious. The question now is, how many sites do we need as a minimum?

There is Myspace, Digg, Technorati, Stumbleupon, Facebook, etc etc. I want your opinion. Give me a comment stating your opinion as to how many we should join. And if you like, give me your preferred sites. You can also tell me which ones are harder to use to make money.

The one I recently joined is Facebook. My articles from my blog alrready appear on Digg. Truthfully, the first look at the Facebook home page is disheartening. It’s really ugly. But you can’t deny success, so their massive traffic must imply there are good things inside.

So you’ve ultimately realized that the key to having success on the internet is finding a niche market.  After months of failure, you have found the perfect niche and are investing a great deal of time into developing your niche market web site.  The problem is you still are not having the kind of success you had hoped for.  So why exactly is this?

The problem with having one web site or one revenue stream is the internet fluctuates and evolves far too much to rely on one opportunity.  It is simply not possible to exist on the internet and have success off of one revenue stream because of the multiple opportunities that arise every day.
